SPLIT CANE RODS

Fosters and Hardy split cane rods for sale, all in excellent condition and some rare. For more information contact Les Shaw.

When Fosters retail shop closed in the summer of 2000. I decided to buy the name Fosters of Ashbourne incorporating Foster Bros. as I didn't want to see the name disappear.

The Following 4 rods were built for me by Fosters' last trained rod builder Stephen Woolley of Ashbourne.

  

   

Unused - Fosters of Ashbourne the Wisp 6 1/2ft. # 3/4 Built in February 2008. 2 piece split cane fly rod with agatine lined butt ring + intermediate snake rings whipped in ruby silk  tipped with green.  Nickel silver reel fittings.  Supplied with cloth bag and leather rod tube.

Unused - Fosters of Ashbourne Airsprite 7 1/2ft. # 4/5 built in February 2008, 2 piece split cane fly rod with agatine lined butt ring + intermediate snake rings whipped in ruby silk tipped with green, Nickel silver reel fittings. Supplied with cloth bag and leather tube.

Fosters of Ashbourne Trout Priest

Shaft made from old stock unused Fosters split cane rod blank, whipped and varnished by Stephen Woolley - Fosters last trained rod builder.  Nickel Silver head (engraved Fosters Ashbourne) weight 70g. Designed and machined by Garry Mills - milltackle.co.uk  -  With leather wrist strap.

Pezon et Michel Ritz Super Parabolic PPP Fario Club 2m 57 - 8`5" #5/6 Trout Fly Rod - 2 section with extra top section, butt length 47" - 120cm tip length 54" - 137cm weight 5 3/4oz. This rod is in near perfect condition and appears to be unused, complete with original elongated ferrule stopper, red cloth bag and tube with outer bag.

Hardy "Palakona" 2 Section Brook Trout Fly Rod 6ft - 180cm #5 - This rod is in superb condition having seen very little use if any, agate lined butt ring with snake intermediates whipped in scarlet tipped with green, date code J/L built in September 1975 complete with original ferrule stopper and cloth bag

Hardy "Palakona" 2 Section Split Cane Trout Fly Rod 7ft 6" - 228cm. #6, Weight 3 ozs 8 drms (approx 99 grammes) - This rod is in excellent condition and appears to be unused, agate lined butt ring and snake intermediates with green tipped scarlet whippings, date code C/O built in March 1972 complete with original ferrule stopper and cloth bag with factory label.

 Hardy "Palakona" 2 Section Split Cane Trout Fly Rod 8ft 9" - 267cm. #7 Weight 5 1/2oz - 156g. - This rod is in excellent unused condition with original shrink wrap on cork handle, agate lined butt ring and snake intermediate rings with green tipped scarlet whippings, date code E/X built in May 1977 and complete with original ferrule stopper and cloth bag with factory label (picture of label to be added) this model was formerly known as the famous "Koh I Noor" rod.
